Excerpt, Volume 2

She looked up at him, vigilant to hold a stare into his big brown eyes– feeling as if she’ll fall deeper into the abyss the longer she gazed. With her voice shaking, she finally said to him, “but you told me you prefer simple girls,” Standing before him in her charcoal converse, an old fitted denim jeans, and her favorite white shirt that says, “Nobody likes your free hugs.” in bold pink letters that hangs quite loose. Groping for strength to spat out the next words. She hesitated for a while–afraid that she might break down… and then she found herself thinking out loud, her face was drenched in tears and jitters in her voice; the next words broke the silence, “and I thought I was beautiful enough for you…” -from the book I can never write
